Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall

Here in Toronto it may not feel like fall yet but the back to school adds and pumpkin everything say differently. I’m enjoying the thought that I actually don’t have to go back to school and can instead fill my time with smaller daily accomplishments. There are a few things I am looking forward to in the next few months which I’d love to share with you.

After taking the later part of the summer off to travel and hang out with family I am happy to get back in the studio (Yay!) This fall I will be entering a final development stage for my solo work Always With Me. I am hoping to present the finished piece in early 2016 so stay tuned!

This month I am also back in the studio with my good friend Aria Evans to continue working on our duet In This Room. After taking some time away we are excited to revisit this monstrosity of a piece and to continue artistically discovering and defining what our friendship really means.

Together we are also going to be teaching a workshop for Expect Theatre. We will be facilitating one of the workshops for the participants of their emerging arts program Beats + Intentions, which we ourselves were a part of in 2014. We are really looking forward to meeting these young artists and talking to them about our awesome experience in the program.

Finally I am going to be performing at Scotiabank Nuit Blanche on October 3rd. . I will be performing in Brandy Leary’s Glaciology. I am looking forward to being a part of a very large scale version of this work which I have seen performed in the past. More details on this performance to follow soon!

And to top off all that fun professional stuff, we are moving! Yes our little family is packing up and shipping off to a lovely new place which we are very excited about. So between rehearsals and application writing I’m trying to squeeze in packing whenever I can. Should make for an eventful beginning of the season.

Happy fall everyone!
