Residency Opportunity with The Research Exchange

RTESo I am a founding member of this really cool collective called The Research Exchange.  We create opportunitities for artist to research ideas they without the pressure of needing to present them and without the stress of having to finance and orchestrate the entire process. Our residencies (which we like to refer to as cycles of experimentation) are also a great opportunity to meet fellow artists and collaborate on their projects. Here’s how it works:

Each participant in a TRE research cycle leads a session of exploration which will be attended by all other participants. During each session the lead participant is welcome to explore any thought, concept, question or practice which they feel could benefit from research time involving other like-minded individuals. In exchange for this research opportunity the researcher will attend subsequent meetings to act as an interpreter for other participants’ creative ideas. Continue reading

Gratefulness Challenge Day 10

Day ten! Not only have I made it to double digits (remember how exciting that was as a kid?) but I am a third of the way through my gratefulness challenge! Haven’t run out of things to be grateful for yet. Here’s to another 20 awesome days!

1. The generosity of others: I am always amazed at how much people are willing to give for nothing. Considering we live in a culture that is frequently described as selfish, self centred, and financially driven, the fact that I still see so much generosity makes me really glad. Perhaps I simply choose to see the world through a very optimistic lens, but I’d rather believe that people just genuinely enjoy giving.
