Residency Opportunity with The Research Exchange

RTESo I am a founding member of this really cool collective called The Research Exchange.  We create opportunitities for artist to research ideas they without the pressure of needing to present them and without the stress of having to finance and orchestrate the entire process. Our residencies (which we like to refer to as cycles of experimentation) are also a great opportunity to meet fellow artists and collaborate on their projects. Here’s how it works:

Each participant in a TRE research cycle leads a session of exploration which will be attended by all other participants. During each session the lead participant is welcome to explore any thought, concept, question or practice which they feel could benefit from research time involving other like-minded individuals. In exchange for this research opportunity the researcher will attend subsequent meetings to act as an interpreter for other participants’ creative ideas. Continue reading

A Summary of 23

Tomorrow, March 21st, will be my 23rd birthday. Though the number is not one that usually holds much significance, my 23rd years has probably been one of my most eventful ones to date. More changes, challenges, adventures and accomplishments have filled 23 than I could have ever imagined. I started flipping through my calendar from the past 12 months and here are a few memorable moments I came across. It isn’t a complete list, simply a sampling of all the amazing things that have blessed my latest year of life.

What You Get When You Put a Dancer in a Bathtub

I somewhat secretly mentioned this project about a month ago but never went into much detail. I am currently working on a new dance video with my good friend and fellow artist Aria Evans. We officially completed the first version of the work entitled Deluge this past week and it is currently entered in Dansens Dag’s 60 seconds dance competition.
